Wedding Hair
Finding a really great hair and make-up artist, is a must when achieving a beautiful finish to your final wedding look.
When faced with the task of searching, it's a bit of a mine field and any professional will probably get booked up in advance. So, how do you go about searching? I would say, once you've decided on your budget, you can then go forward and short list some names. The things that should help you determine your decision, should be things like:
- Do they have a web site giving clear information, including previous work, pictures and testimonials?
- What experience and training have they had and/or are undertaking?
- Do other professions recommend them?
- Whilst making contact, how they respond to you may give an indication of how reliable they are.
When you have made your decision, the next thing is to make contact and arrange a trial. The trial has a really important part to play, in the preparation of your final wedding hair and make-up look. It enables you to be sure that you are totally satisfied with the finished result, prior to the wedding day.
Turning up for your trial, it is often recommended to have:
- Clean, dry hair (preferably washed the night before).
- Images of ideas and styles (including your bridesmaids).
- Tiara and veil (if you have it).
Once you have decided and are totally satisfied with the finished result, your hair and make-up artist should record your details, in preparation for your wedding day. Occasionally, it is necessary to have another trial, if you can't make your mind up after the first trial.
Finally, your artist should touch base with you a day or so before the wedding, to be sure that all the timings and location details are correct. Providing all this information is in place, it should mean you will thoroughly enjoy the experience of your wedding morning, stress free with your family and friends and the perfect start to your big day!
